Before you can become a pilot or renew your license, you must prove that your body is in proper condition to fly an aircraft. This includes checking for conditions that may impair your senses during flight.

To discuss your medical history, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Ravid, the only FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner in Port Charlotte.
Thorough Examination
Following a check of your vitals, hearing, and vision, Dr. Ravid conducts a full-body examination and may arrange for lab tests.
Final Certification
After completing your flight physical, we’ll certify your fitness to fly, allowing you to continue piloting once we’ve supplied you with the proper documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Class I pilots under the age of 39 must receive a physical every 6 months and an electrocardiogram (ECG) once per year. Class II pilots require annual physicals. Finally, Class III pilots below 39 only need a physical every 5 years, while those above 39 require exams every 2 years.
Dr. Ravid will immediately issue your FAA medical certificate if you meet all physical and mental criteria.
